The 2026 Black Cat Cup

Following this years Black Cat Cup competition which culminated on the 25th January, the following are points to note... The winning section was from 221 Fd Sqn, with strong competition from 579 Fd Sqn in second place, a mixed Sect in third and a section from 217 Fd Sqn bringing up the rear.

The Currier’s Cup for the best soldier went to Cpl Sheppard, for valiantly leading 579 Sqn’s section and displaying excellent leadership and initiative throughout the competition.

The Long Service and Good Conduct medal was presented to SSgt Barrett and Sgt McCarthy, Chief Royal Engineers (CRE) commendations were presented to Cpl Williams and Capt Loughrey.
